Pastel Love

This summer Barry M have released some gorgeous pastel nail paints, I have to admit, I may have got a little too into them, I have bought 4 out of the 5 pastel shades.

The first one I purchased was number 308 - Berry Ice Cream, I bought this one on the reviews of Lollipop26 and Fleur De Force, I have to admit before this I had never bought a Barry M nail paint before, as I wasn't sure of the quality, I can now say, I'm glad I went ahead and bought them! For £2.95 they are a real bargin! (Up until August 3rd they are 2 for £5 in Superdrug), the colour of this nail paint is gorgeous, I really love wearing it! It lasts a good amount of time as well before it starts chipping.

Since then I have bought and tried 304 - Mint Green and 306 - Blueberry Ice Cream, these colours are ones I'm not sure I will wear as often, on my fingers, as for me they are a little "out there", but on my toes they look good, especially with tanned skin! The application of both of these nail paints are very thick, meaning each nail only needs one coat to get a really good colour pay off! This makes painting my nails very quick and easy!

My sister then wanted to try the 309 - Strawberry Ice Cream, as she had bought me Barry M's Mushroom nail paint, I returned the favour by picking 309 up for her, but before I took it home to her, I had a quick go with it! This nail paint isn't as thick in consistency as the 304 or 306, and requires a couple of coats to get a really bold colour, it does however come across very nicely, and I can safely say my sister has been loving the colour!

Some new products I have tried...

Over the past few weeks I have bought some new cosmetic products, some I love, and some I hate. Rather than writing one MASSIVE long blog about all of the products I've broken them down into a few smaller blog reviews. Enjoy and let me know if you have tried any of the products!

April Favourites

Doing monthly favourites is a bit of a tough one for me, mainly because I have found my favourite products for most things, e.g Foundation/Mascara etc, so they don't change month to month, and also writing that they are my favourite every thirty days would get very dull, very quickly! As a result I have a few items, some beauty related and some random ones...

First up is my new Barry M nail paint in Berry (no. 308), I did a blog post earlier this week when I got it, and it was very much a first reaction type thing, I have been wearing it for 3 days now, and (touch wood) it hasn't chipped yet (BIG thumbs up from me for that!) I do top coat with China Glaze's No Chip top coat, but it can still go!

My next favourite is Lemony Flutter from Lush, I'm trying to get into the habit of moisturising my hands more often, and this is perfect, I only picked up a sample, and I have used it about 10 times and I haven't even made a dent in it! The sample alone with last me a long while! It also smells AMAZING! Very lemony (duh!)

This next favourite has been a bit of a life saver over the past week or so, with all the hot weather we have been having (ahh love it!) my feet have decided to develop heat rash (joy!) once it became obvious that the hot weather was here to stay (even though its raining now!) and that my feet were not happy, I bought a tube of E45 itch relief cream, this stuff has worked wonders! Whats now left of the heat rash is not itchy and when it is, i just slap on a bit more cream!

I'm not sure I can class the weather of the past week a favourite, but I'm going to put it out there and state that I LOVE THE HOT WEATHER!!! Phew, feels better to get that out in the open!!!!

Another thing I'm loving is listening to old songs on my itunes, alot of the time i will skip older songs, as i would much rather listen to newer stuff, but just recently, i have been listening to songs that were out between 2003 and 2005, I'm not deliberately seeking out these years, but they mean alot to me, and each song seems to have a brilliant story attached with lots of happy memories!!!

My final favourite is driving! I'm currently learning to drive (in London, I must be mad!) but I'm absolutely loving it! I get on brilliantly with my driving instructor, and crazy London mini cab drivers aside, i really look forward to each lesson! I now just cannot wait to get my own car...oh and my licence!

I try and do it twice, but sometimes I'm very lazy and only do it in the morning!!!

Yes, the face wash comes with a little scrublet, so it gently exfoliates!

Nope

Do you use eye cream?
No, I probably should, but its one of those things I never seem to do!

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Thankfully no! I'm very lucky in that in the past 5 months I have found the products that suit my skin best at this time!

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Nope

What foundation do you use?
Revlon Beyond Natural Skin matching foundation

How about concealer?
MAC Studio Sculpt in NW20

Do you know your undertone color?
I would say I have yellow undertones, as that what I learnt at college, but I think because I have a NW concealer MAC may beg to differ!!!

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I only wear them on nights out mind, not one of those people who love them so much I wear them everyday!!

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes! I tell my housemates off for not doing this!!! Common sense guys!!!

What brand of mascara do you use?
I LOVE my maybeline Pulse Perfection mascara!!

Sephora or MAC?
Well we don't have Spehora over here (wish we did though!!) So because it's all I know, MAC!

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No, I really need to get on and get one, but until I'm earning I wouldn't be able to take full advantage of it!!

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Brushes, at college I got a LOT of latex sponges with my kit and I HATE them! Brushes all the way!

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, but I have to admit I only started using them last year! I use MAC's Prep & Prime

For the face?
Yes, I have found a brilliant one - Loreal Studio Secret Anti Shine Primer, LOVE IT!

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I wouldn't say I have a definite favourite, but I love doing brown smokey eyes, so I suppose a good spectrum of browns!

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil, As much as I love liquid liner alot of the time I can't be bothered!!!

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Not often, I wouldn't be a very good makeup artist if I did that!!!

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
As much as I like them, I don't use them often, I have done a few looks with pigments, but because they are so messy it puts me off!!

Do you use mineral makeup?
Nope, can't stand the stuff, it just doesn't give me the coverage I want!

What is your favorite lipstick?
Barry M 101 in Marshmallow - Ok so its a lip pain but still! I don't tend to wear lipstick because my lips are quite dark!

How about lipgloss?
Ooooh I love my Dazzleglass, in Bare Necessity

What is your favorite blush to use?
I'm liking my No7 Illuminating Powder in Dainty

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Nope, I'm always I a bit wary in case its fake etc

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes, providing you can find the right products for you, I don't think you necessarily have to spend a fortune on cosmetics!

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
Again, something we don't have over here, maybe its for my own good though!!!!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes, well I went to college for a year so I guess been there done that!!!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Nah, I try and be as precise as possible

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
ooft plenty, Orange Skin/White Neck, Badly placed/coloured blusher or bronzer, heavily lined lips, OTT eye Makeup...etc etc etc

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I like both, but I tend to wear neutrals, I do however like coming up with new looks using colours!

Which celebrity always has great make up?
Victoria Beckham rarely gets it wrong, I like Nicole Richie's as well, its a very natural look!

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Hmm I think probably Mascara...oh wait Lip balm!!

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
erm I could, but I don't like to!!

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I would like to think so, but I do prefer to wear it!

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
Tough one, probably MAC, maybe Benefit!

I love it, not sure if its where I want to go with my career, but its a wonderful hobby!

New nail polish!

It's been a long time since I did a beauty related blog, and since that is my passion, it's about time I got back to it!! So here goes!!!

Having seen Lollipop26 rave about Barry M's nail paint in Berry (no. 308) I decided I wanted in as well! Now, I'm normally a pretty boring person when it comes to nail colours, don't get me wrong I love vibrant colours, but I'm just not convinced I can pull off "wacky" colours!!! Anyways I digress, slapped some Berry on my fingernails and my oh my do I like!!!!

It has a very strange application, it goes on a little thin looking, but as it dries it seems to get thicker and the colour intensifies, it does look good though!!!

This is the first Barry M nail paint I have bought, and I'm sure it won't be the last!! My housemates have the coral one and flamingo pink, and both seem to wear well! But the true test will be to see how long I can go for without it chipping, I have put a layer of China Glaze's No - Chip top coat over it so lets see!!!

OK, so I have to admit, I'm not great on the whole blogging thing. However I thought I might give it a whirl!! I'm probably not going to be very good at keeping this updated, but it might be a good place for me to connect up to my YouTube channel!!

Right now I'm watching True Blood, i'm on the fourth episode of the first season, it's one of those shows that alot of people have been raving about and i'm willing to try them to see what all the hype is about! So far i'm not sure if I'm watching it to try and make my mind up about it, or if i'm watching it because I actually like it! I will probably watch the first season and then make up my mind!!!

So onto makeup as thats my area of knowledge (!!) Today I bought 2 Sleek eyeshadow palettes, the Original one and the Safari one, the Safari one is a limited edition, but i'm loving the colours! I made a video about them, I also ramble on about my new Barry M lipstick (colour 101) and the new Rimmel Max Volume Flash mascara!!

I'm still new to the whole YT thing, been making videos for nearly 3 months now, i'm getting more confident about being in front of the camera etc and hopefully it shows!!!

Lets see how these blogs go, it might be once a day or once a week, even once a month, I will mostly write about fashion & beauty, but I will occasionally blog about life in general!
